Rights & takedown
Every meme in The Margins is either made by our team, submitted by a reader who affirmed they hold the rights, or used with credit under commentary or parody. We don't scrape, we don't bulk-import, and nothing is published without an attributable rights basis. We punch at the situation — AI hype, 3 a.m. debugging, client feedback — never at an identifiable person or a named firm.
Ask us to remove something
If you believe a meme infringes your rights, was posted without permission, or misuses your logo or likeness, email editors@thelayer.co with the meme's URL and a short description of the issue. We remove or re-attribute disputed content within 5 business days of a good-faith request — no lawyers required first.
Brand owners who object to nominative or parody use of a logo: tell us and we'll pull it. We honour all valid DMCA notices; you don't need a formal notice to ask.
Credit
Where a meme isn't ours, the creator's name and a link to the source appear on the meme's page. If we've credited you incorrectly, tell us and we'll fix it.
